David & Nicole married in 2000, and have three children and three grandchildren. David's corporate career was in the Legal-Outsourcing Industry where he managed staff and systems for multiple top-ranking law firms. Nicole's corporate career with with the US Department of Justice in the Fraud Division, and ultimately the Assist Attorney General's office. After serving as Pastor and 1st Lady of Kirkland Memorial Church of God in Christ for 12 years, they launched THE LIFE HOUSE in 2018.

Our story begins as Kirkland Memorial Church of God in Christ, as many of us were under the pastoral leadership of the late Dr. Isaac Sams. He was known to many as a man of great wisdom and generosity. He was also Pastor Porter's godfather and mentor, preparing him for the pastorate in the future. When Pastor Sams transitioned in 2007, Pastor David Porter succeeded him in leadership. And in 2018, David and Nicole launched The Life House Church. As a membership, we left everything behind to start anew. It was a tremendous leap of faith that God continues to reward with: 1) FREEDOM in the truth of His Word 2) UNITY through the genuine fellowship of our Life House Family 3) PURPOSE as we use our gifts, talents and skills to serve each other and our neighboring communities. OUR MISSION is to live our God-designed lives, while leading others to life through Christ.

We believe in The GOD of The Bible. We believe THE BIBLE is God's holy, inerrant Word to and for us. We believe that God put on human flesh to become like us so He can redeem us from our sins. While in this state, He was called JESUS CHRIST. Based on this fact, we believe that JESUS CHRIST is God. We believe Jesus Christ allowed Himself to be crucified, and resurrected Himself from the dead after three days. This is how we can become saved from sin and eternal damnation. We believe that God gives us His Spirit, THE HOLY GHOST, to give us direction as we live the holy life God requires on Earth. We believe God will use MEN, WOMEN, BOYS and GIRLS for ministry and Kingdom impact in these last days. We believe JUDGEMENT DAY is soon to come, where those who are saved will spend eternity with God - and those who are not saved will spend eternity in The Lake of Fire. We believe anyone who repents from sin (change thoughts and behaviors based on The Holy Bible) will be saved.
